Social Responsibility

Future Mobile Technology is committed to improving the level of education in poor countries and in collaboration with the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University in South Africa has developed a menu driven “Digital Classroom” using audio visual content provided by the university and Future Mobile Technology proprietary software called ACMEE.
The netsurfer SCHOLAR has been developed initially to address the critical situation Africa faces regarding the shortage of mathematics and science university graduates who have achieved final school year passes in these two subjects. In future the netsurfer Scholar will also contain content related to other school subjects. It can also be used by teachers as a teaching aid.
The aid has over 183 hours of preloaded audio video content such as mathematics classes, science experiments, past exam papers and workbooks and can be used to supplement what is taught at school, as a study guide for exams or both.
Over 5 gigabytes of content is pre-loaded onto an Android Tablet and used as and when desired by learners or teachers. An internet connection is not required.

Enterprise Development

Coming from an entrepreneurial background, the directors of Future Mobile Technology understand the importance of entrepreneurs in the economic development of any country. In line with this thinking, FMT supports a number of enterprise development initiatives by donating computer equipment to assist start-ups in the very early stages. One of the primary recipients of donations from FMT is an organisation called SEED (Stellenbosch Entrepreneur and Enterprise Development). SEED operates as an entrepreneurship catalyst to enable young new entrepreneurs to start businesses and assists with training and development of such entrepreneurs. SEED uses netsurfer mobile tablets and smart phones for their accredited training courses and innovative business support.

Socio Economic Development

FMT is committed to improving the living standard of those who have had a less fortunate start to life. As part of its social economic development policies, FMT is proud to provide ongoing support for the Gold Peer Education Development Agency’s Youth Leadership programs which aim to build social capital in communities, support education in difficult circumstances, and develop emergent leaders through their inclusive and practical programmes.
